OpenTest started out of an open exchange of ideas inside Texas Instruments to make software test activities more efficient in March 2009.
A informal team of engineers was formed to design and implement a software test automation system that would:
- Reuse test infrastructure across teams, including teams working on very different product lines.
- Increase the amount of test automation coverage on every release, so test activities could scale as new releases became more complex and supported more platforms.
